ITALY VENICE FOOD GUIDE Oh, so you like pizza? And pasta? And gelato? And tiramisu? And anything buttery, cheesy, and/or chocolatey? Cool. You’ve come to the right place… Try a polpette, or Italian meatball from Alla Vedova. Or as I like to call it, a crispy ball of heaven… or how about some prawns doused in homemade tomato basil garlic sauce? (Really, really) black olives. Pizza decked out with prosciutto, ‘shrooms, mozzarella and gorgonzola. Thank you Muro San Stae, for this cheesy perfection. Sometimes, simplicity is the best-icity. Spaghetti with crushed cherry tomatoes, basil, olive oil and garlic. Mmmmmm. But other times, spaghetti needs more friends to feel as happy as a clam… Inside sneak peak. Little mussel and big tomato just make the most beautiful couple, don’t they? DESSERT anybody? This panna cotta was the MAN-a-cotta. Just look at that thick, gooey, rich raspberry sauce. Mmmmmmmm. TORRONE’s. By far my new favorite thing. Or obsession, really. These thick, sweet, gooey slices of euphoria are filled with almonds and ribbons of flavoring, this being tiramisu. Flavors vary from dark chocolate orange, to coffee. Ohhh and don’t forget about the macaroons from Dal Mas. This little guy was strawberry flavored… Gelato from Getaria Co’d’oro. You MUST try… their speciality ricotta flavor, filled with ribbons of honey and caramelized sesame seeds. ‘Nuff said. HOLY CANNOLI. So, Italy round two anybody? Still eatin’ like a local.
